So here's what I know: Someone from the guild Koltok approached Bellow with the proposal of a merger. This was after both Bellow and myself ran a few instances with a couple of different members of that guild.
The people I've met were fun, had good senses of humor, and were good members of a PUG.
From what I understand they've got about 150 members from high to low level.
With the caveat that I'd want us to retain the name CLUB DEAD, I'm all for a merger.
Having a bigger guild is advantageous to people of all levels as it gives a wider array of classes, skills and people to group with for instances or PVP. It would dilute the small community atmosphere of CLUB DEAD somewhat so that should be part of the discussion I suppose.
Thoughts?

I agree that having a larger guild would be more advantageous - especially for the lvl 60s. I think it would be difficult for us to retain our name in this deal, however, with them being the larger guild. And I have mixed feelings on that note, I'm quite fond of our name... I can make a couple of suggestions - we could enter into a partnership with them, maybe combine websites, and create our own chat channels in at least the major cities, if not everywhere so that we could communicate. I will try to approach their guild master and discuss.
On another note, we should discuss how to make promotions in our own guild. Anyone have any thoughts?

I can also see the advantage of having the resources of a larger guild for running high level instances and raids. However, I also don't want to give up the name or have the guild chat even noisier than it is now. As Sevisok suggested, perhaps we can affiliate and cooperate with the Koltok guild. That way, we get the benefits and still keep our identity.
In general, I think Club Dead is shaping up nicely. There are a number of members approaching 60 and the variety of classes and professions is good.

I can see where a large guild would be helpful when you need to form raid groups of up to 40 people. I have always had plenty of folks to group with, but that's always been in groups of 5. Club Dead seems to be currently set up for the 10-55 levels where 5 person groups still work. Maybe when more of the members reach level 60, it will need to evolve. For now, I am happy with the smaller guild. I think if we formed an affiliation, the 2 guilds could still group and help each other out. If it worked real well, we might want to do a full merger.
