Club Dead now has it's own Ventrilo server.
Ventrilo provides players an audio link so they talk to
each other during group play.
Ventrilo is an alternative to Teamspeak.
Requirements:
Computer with a sound card. Most computers have a suitable sound card.
Microphone (connected to mic input on computer/sound card)
Headphones (connected to headphone jack on computer/sound card)
Ventrilo client program
The Ventrilo client program can be downloaded here:
www.ventrilo.com/download.php
Versions are available for Windows, Linux and Macs.
Ventrilo is free for non-commercial personal use but please
read and comply with the license agreement.
Download and install the Ventrilo client program on your
computer.
Launch the program and a wizard will guide you through the program's setup.
The items that should be entered are:
User Name: <your chars name>
Server name:Club Dead
Server address:66.207.167.30
Port:4817
Password: maggot
The server password is "maggot" for now.
This password may change from time to time.
There is additional help on setting up Ventrilo within the program and on their website (www.ventrilo.com).
To use, launch the Ventrilo program and connect
to the Club Dead server.
The Vent server is set up similar to our Teamspeak server
with five members channels (MembersChan1, MembersChan2,...)
When you initially connect you'll be using the server's lobby channel.
You should immediately join one of the MembersChans.
(Just click on the channel name.)
There are no channel passwords for now.
Please do not join a channel already in use by a different group.
(There is a permanent channel named "BonesChan" for yours truly. RHIP<g>)
There is a limit of 20 users so when you are done
please disconnect so that others may use the server.
Some suggestions:
1. Use headphones. Using speakers causes feedback and annoying echoes.
2. Use your WOW character name so others know who you are.
3. Use a separate channel for your group.
4. Play nice and be polite.
Cost:
Free to Club Dead members.
Guarantees:
None what so ever.
The server may be discontinued at any time.
Your mileage may vary.
All disclaimers apply.
Also many thanks to Crush and his friend Criticize for allowing Club Dead members guest access to Criticize's Vent server.
If you have any questions mail or pst me in WOW
and I'll do my best to help.
